Maps and Local Interest

This is not the place here to review all of Six-Fours' attractions. Suffice it to provide a few links that will enable you to plan better your coming and browse some of the local webpages.

Mapping the City and the Flats

.Coming from the ‘autoroute’, take the La Seyne / Camp Laurent exit and follow the direction Six-Fours. You will have to drive straight on for about a mile, passing by an Auchan supermarket and a McDonald’s restaurant. At the third roundabout, you will enter Six-Fours and you’ll find out that our street is located on the right at the second lights.  It leads to the military fort and the ancient church (the ‘collégiale’) uphill.

To locate the block on a map, enter 105 Montée du fort 83140 SIX-FOURS, France using maporama.

Web Resources about the City

A good place for you to start with is the English page provided by Provenceweb. It covers the seaside with some nice pictures, lists of restaurants and links with neighbouring cities.

Another obvious spot is the town hall's site as the city sponsors all the major attractions, such as the "Les voix du gaou" music festival in late July and August.

Many cultural events are organized each summer (Avignon theatre festival, classical music in Aix-en-Provence, jazz in Toulon, theatre in Ramatuelle…). You can book tickets for these at fnac.com.

Some French and foreign pages deal with windsurfing, for which Six-Fours is one of the best known spots in the Mediterranean.

Finally, you will maybe discover that the city is blessed with beautiful Mediterranean woods as well as beaches. So bringing a bike to go to the strand or climb steep hills could be a good idea. Needless to say that these hills will reward your efforts with beautiful views on the sea…

Some more

If your French is fluent enough, the best thing however remains to visit the local paper's website or better ask them for a newsletter.

If you come in summer, you could inquire about ongoing festivals…

Eventually, the categories for the Var and Six-Fours of the French Yahoo! Directory may be well worth a visit.
